Although winter doesn’t officially start until December 21, the spirit of the season is already in full swing here in New England.

With all the shopping, planning, baking, and so much more that goes into creating perfect holiday memories, sometimes it’s easy to get overwhelmed and forget about yourself.

Here in Rhode Island, there is no lack of things to do, see, eat, or drink that will keep the season alive. This week and weekend, why not take a day or two to de-stress and simply celebrate the magic of the winter season?

For the young at heart, novice gardeners, music lover, and everyone in between, we have got you covered for great winter outings. Here are ten picks for winter fun in the Providence area.

Take the trip to Bristol this weekend to enjoy the festivities. Take a Christmas tour of Linden Place Mansion to see the lavish decorations. Holiday Pops

Theatre

Take a trip to Stadium Theatre and the Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts at Rhode Island College to experience the best in holiday theatre productions. Head to Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket for their showing of a holiday classic, “A Christmas Carol” Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
